frequently asked questions

  • How does the Buyback guarantee work?
Have a look at our Buyback Guarantee page for all the details. In short, we make a legally-binding commitment to buy your crib back from you when you're done with it (if you want, and subject to certain conditions). The buyback will be for a price agreed at the date of purchase as set out in the guarantee. It must be within a period of 3 years from the date of delivery, and is subject to the item being returned in an acceptable condition. After 3 years, we'll still take the crib back if you no longer want it, but we won't be able to pay you for it.
  • How do I request Buyback?
You can request Buyback from on the website by filling in the initiate Buyback form and selecting a suitable collection date. Alternatively you can email us at with your name and order number. We will then be in contact to get the necessary details from you and to agree a collection date.
  • How do I return the crib or extra legs?
After arranging Buyback with us, please pack up the Crib and any extra legs. To do this, please remove the support bars from the legs, and place the legs and alignment bars inside the crib with the bolts and if you still have them the attachment straps and Allen key. Please feel free to include any washed Alora bedding or Alora mattresses you have finished with. Although we cannot Buyback mattresses and bedding, we will make sure they are responsibly composted or recycled. We will check with you when arranging Buyback if any parts are damaged or missing. Depending on the part, it may impact your Buyback price. Please then place everything in a cardboard box (ideally the same box we sent it to you in!) ready for collection. A friendly delivery driver will then collect it from you on the agreed date. A step by step guide can be found here. If there are any issues or questions, please contact customer services.
  • What is the Alora Bedside Crib for?
NHS guidelines recommend that your baby sleeps in the same room as you for the first 6 months, day and night (please see here for NHS guidance). This crib has been designed specifically to accommodate this. The Alora Bedside Crib is designed to be a safe space for your baby to sleep day or night. The Crib can be used in bedside mode and attached to your bed with the provided straps so you can easily check on your baby during the night, safe in the knowledge they're safe and close. The drop down side also makes is easier to comfort or pick up baby whilst in bed for those late night feeds. The drop down side should only be in the lowered position when baby is supervised by an adult. The patent pending 'easy fit' mechanism means it is quick and easy to remove the Crib's bassinet so you can move it to whichever room you are in during the day. It can then be used on the floor, or be placed on the legs, in a safe, convenient space where you can keep an eye on baby through the large mesh windows while they sleep and you enjoy a peaceful ten minutes or get the rest of life done.
  • What age should my baby be to use the Alora Bedside Crib?

  • How does the Alora Bedside Crib attach to my bed?
The Alora Bedside Crib can be used as a standalone crib (away from your bed) or as a bedside crib (next to your bed). • Can I use other brands of bedding with the Alora Natural Mattress?
The Alora fitted sheets are designed specifically to fit the Alora Natural Mattress. We therefore recommend that you only use Alora fitted sheets with the Alora Natural Mattress. Whatever bedding you do use, make sure it is well fitted and secure.
  • Do Alora products conform to the latest safety standards?
Yes! We don't just want to sell the most practical, beautiful and sustainable products out there, they have to be safe, very very safe. We therefore not only meet the latest relevant British Standards but go even further to ensure our products are safe. The Alora Bedside Crib conforms to the latest British Standard for Bedside Cribs (BS 1130:2019 including the 2020 update). The Alora Natural Mattress conforms to the latest British Standards for mattresses (BS 7177:2008+A1:2011 and BS 16890:2017+A1:2021). We use natural materials as much as possible, and are working to make everything from natural materials. This is not just because of the environmental benefits of using natural materials, but because some man-made materials have historically had unexpected health impacts. Sometimes these materials are however needed but when they are, we make sure they're tested to the British Standard for harmful chemicals for children (BS EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021) before we use them. We also test our products ourselves, rigorously, often pushing them far beyond what they will ever be used for. If we wouldn't put our own baby in it, then we won't put yours in it!
  • What if my baby is early?
We recommend that you select a delivery date for your crib at least 2 months before your due date to be on the safe side, but if your baby has arrived earlier than you expected, and your crib hasn't been delivered yet, get in touch with us at or call us, and we'll do our best to get a crib to you as soon as possible.
  • What about any other unexpected events?
Just write to us at and we'll be able to help you, depending on your situation.
